Now, I thought of giving you guys some links and some tips on how to learn to use PS. Some basic stuff for anyone who might be interested. =)


So, firstly, I would suggest you gather some resources since you will use them a lot in your work. Through "resources" I mean C4Ds (the name of these pictures comes from the program with which they are created, Cinema 4D), renders (pictures without background; having the extension .png), stock images, brushes, custom shapes, different fonts and so on. I will start by giving some links from where you can get these things.

I will begin with deviantART (also referring as "dA") because here you can find many useful things (everything from what I said above), BUT you have to pay attention to the creator's rules of using their work (some might not allow their work to be used outside of dA).
Furthermore, here you can find some really nice stocks and renders: StockHouse and here: Render Gallery you can find some nice renders. However, the best site for renders is: Planet Renders.
If you want some more fonts except the basic ones, check here: da font. You will also find there the instructions on how to install them.


Secondly, after you choose the program with which you will work (these resources work for any designing program; if you don't want or can't get the full version of PhotoShop, you can try GIMP which is the best free alternative for PS or you can go for the online version of PS which is also for free: Adobe PhotoShop Express), you need to get started with some basic tutorials (it would also be a good idea to have a look around on the program's features and so on). Look for those that have the "easy" status. With those you will work on until you think you can get to the next level: moderate/intermediate and then to proferssional. =)

The best site with tutorials for all programs is: Good Tutorials. Here you will find tutorials gathered from many sites for many programs. Some other good sites for tutorials AND for resources would be: GameEXE, SigTutorials, Pixel2Life, 100 PS Tutorials and You suck at PhotoShop (the guy has a really funny way of presenting his tutorials XD).

Free Digital Photos - You can get free image stocks from here, BUT only if you use them for non-commercial purposes. Also, they are available in pretty small sizes, for higher resolutions you need to pay. ^^' Still, you can find some useful stuff there.

Pixel For Life - You can find here nicely done video tutorials.

Urban Dirty - From here you can get free texture stock photos.

There you can find a lot of resources, you can get feedback from them (check their forums), BUT I suggest you use this later, when you're getting more into PS. =)

Yeap, yeap. =) I posted that link as well in my first post. ^^' It's a really good site for renders, but you need an account to view the renders in full size (it's worth it, imo).

Also, if you want to get inspiration from great artists, I would suggest you check these three awesome websites: CG Society, MassiveBlack and ConceptArt. I know they present mostly concept artworks, but it really helps to stare at some eye-candy images before working with PhotoShop with your own images. =)
