OK next car coming up, 2 options:

VW Golf 1.4 Petrol
or
VW Golf 1.9 TDi (possibly GT-TDi)

Ive been told the TDi will do more milage than the petrol version with a smaller engine. What do you think?

I have no pics of it but my first car was a Ford Fiesta from 1980. I got it in 2001. I joked around that in 4 more years I would have an old-timer :) Good old time... I still remember that it was no problem for me the steering because I got used to it and most turns I could take with only one hand with ease. Then, I had to go on vacation to the sea and borrowed a newer car from my father in law. It had servo and hydraulic pedals. It was so strange for me to turn the wheel without any force from my side or to press the pedals (brakes for instance) and to have just a minimum resistance from it... Anyway... after two weeks I came back and took my car from my father in law back. I remember that it was a pain to steer my old car and the brakes were horror (I got used to not using too much force to steer or to break). Next day my muscles hurt from driving my own car

Well it'l be my 2nd car coz i got a Toyota Yaris 1.0 GS atm which does pretty good fuel comnsumption. But i have been told that The Golf is awsome...just a bit pricey to insure. But u wouldn't recomend the gt?

GT wil use more fuel, but also giv U much fun by driving it. its simple.
U r young driver so i bet u like crazy drive sometime.
Raise ur car power slowly. i no doubt in ur skils but gt as 2nd car can be...just not that what u need :P

If i can sugest. Take older model of audi with that engine.
A3 or smtn like that. They have lil better suspensions.
And ofc biger chasis so u can carry more ppls or baggage.
Even if u use car not for these, lil more space is always good to have,
believe me.

Well wud the A3 have the same engine? And im also thinking about the price/resell value. Coz i almost beat an A3 in my Yaris...

The AUDI and VW using same engines, you can open the hood and look,
there's always VWAUDI marked there.
Well almost alltime.
Audi is heavier for sure, maybe that's why yaris can beat him barely.
BUT i had a Lada samara once with 1.3engine. And beated even Honda civic 1.3 cause of weight difrence. And had none modifications etc, just rly good oil in engine and all in super good condition.
